Eric On gave a spectacular performance of Living With My Donkeys at the Florida State University Festival of New Music, January 31, 2026. Such energy, such imagination, such tone! Eric chose to do the Low Version on the third piece, Donkeys Love Their Peanuts, and really driving the lines with a crescendo each time and WHIPS out those glissando opportunities! His timing in the They Stand Guard Over Their Friend Nook creates a mystical atmosphere. EACH movement was so perfectly performed. ...The recording is a remix of my original Bray Part, combined with a phone (!!!!) recording of Eric, which surprisingly gave an excellent recording of the horn. As phones do, it didn't quite turn on fast enough to catch the very opening notes, and turned off automatically just before the blast of the ending of that Peanut piece, so I cleverly stole a gliss from inside the piece and added it to the end. I can only imagine what he actually did with that last demanding scream! I hope to have the tracks here coordinated with the video soon. Thank you, Eric! You can find a link to the Festival here.
